The Evil Within 2 Classic Difficulty Walkthrough
Welcome to my Evil Within 2 Classic Difficulty Guide. Classic Difficulty / Classic Mode is the hardest difficulty in the Evil Within 2. You only get 7 saves to use through the whole game and the combat is set to nightmare difficulty. In this walkthrough, i’ll be going through the game and showing you which items to pick up, the routes to take, how to defeat certain enemies and showing the the best places to save. Here’s a simple list first of all of where I recommend saving and where I saved in the video guides.
Save 1: Save just before the Truck Depot Lily runs into, after collecting every item in the area
Save 2: Make a save just before The Guardian Boss in Chapter 5.
Save 3: In the Safe House before the theatre OR just before the Stefano Boss Fight
Save 4: In the safe house Torres takes you to OR just before the house siege in chapter 10
Save 5: In the hotel just before going on the walk through fire
Save 6: Just before the flashback boss fights
Save 7: Just before the final boss
Save 3 and Save 4 have a bit of room for where you make them. I made Save 3 there and not just before Stefano, as I had that mirror glitch and it couldn’t be interacted with. The game is also prone to crashing in the theatre (especially on the PS4 Pro), and having a run stopped by a game crash is annoying.
For Save 4, the distance between save 3-4 is only about 45 minutes long but there are two difficult encounters. The 3 fire priests are difficult in my opinion, as they charge at you and they can split up which just makes things annoying. You can easily deal with them by trying to use an explosive bolt to knock them over, then stomping on them on the floor. This is a bit hit and miss though as sometimes they get blown miles away and then his friend will be there to smack you straight after.
The House Siege is just very random what can happen… try and keep Torres alive and don’t worry about using a ton of resources as you should have a lot of them anyway. If you keep dying at the house siege, make a save just before going to it. I did not as I do not like the flamethrower boss and wanted to be closer to that point and Save 3-4 are not too far apart.
For the last few saves, you should have a ton of resources and should be able to manage it easy enough, especially the final boss.
